About
Located
in the heart of Botswana, House of Hope provides
support to orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs)
and their caregivers.
Opened in 1999, House
of Hope operates a day program for preschool OVCs
an a support group for people living with HIV/AIDS
(PLWAs).
House of Hope is run by a Board
of Trustees and is
funded by a variety of sources, including the Botswana
Government, international donors, corporate
sponsors and private donors.
Vision
To be a model center of excellence that provides
care and compassion while empowering stakeholders
to be instrumental in curbing the spread of HIV/AIDS.

| Our
Preschool |
House of Hope is dedicated
to easing the burden on caregivers by providing
daycare services to preschool OVCs. The preschool
is housed in state-of-the-art schoolrooms built
with ACHAP funding.
Currently, there are 70 children
aged 2 ½ to 6 who are collected
from homes in the community and are fed two
meals and a snack. They are provided educational
lessons and other material and psychosocial
support.

Support Group |
| House of Hope operates a support group
for PLWAs with approximately thirty members.
Through income generating projects, members
are provided with material support such
as meals and transportation to receive
medical treatment. |

House of Hope runs
a Kids’ Club
for primary school OVCs. Secondary school
students and out-of-school youth are trained
in leadership to provide HIV/AIDS awareness
and counseling amid educational and recreational
activities. |

| The
Meeting Place |
 |
Putting HIV/AIDS funding back
into the community |
 |
The Meeting Place can accommodate up to 30 people,
offering catering and equipment to suit any meeting
needs.
It provides employment and training to the community we serve. Proceeds are used
to support people living with AIDS. |

How
can you help? |

games, puzzles and books

We will source 2 additional sponsors
for these children. |

This money is used as follows:
- P.70 towards opening a bank account
for the child, the money will be deposited monthly.
- P.70
towards toiletries and necessary items for the
well being of the child at home, closely monitored
by us.
- P.70 towards the project. (P.35 towards the sustainability
of the project and P.35 for educational pre-school
and creative materials that the child would benefit
from during their childhood.)

Your input after that would
be up to you. You could:
Visit the child, get to know
the child, have birthday parties, take the
child on holiday, get involved with the care
giver and many other ideas.
Or
You could simply pay the money
and not get involved. It is your own choice.
We will send you yearly reports
and photos of your child. |

We
will maintain the Post Office book for you
and see that the child gets the money when
they become of age. In the case of their decease
prior to the date, we will use the money to
help with funeral expenses. The remaining money
will go to the next of kin.
